In the second half of 2024, Shangqiu Yueda Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. completed the customized delivery of 10 sets of 20 tons/day waste plastic pyrolysis equipment for a comprehensive environmental protection enterprise in Ukraine. The equipment was successfully installed, commissioned and officially put into operation in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Project Objectives of Ukraine Plastic-to-Fuel Oil Project
The client is a well-known comprehensive environmental protection enterprise based in Kyiv, mainly engaged in solid waste treatment, resource recycling and environmental remediation services.
With the recovery and development of Ukraine’s manufacturing and daily consumption sectors, the stock of waste plastics (including polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, engineering plastics, etc.) has increased year by year. Traditional disposal methods such as stockpiling and open burning not only occupy large land resources, but also cause serious air and soil pollution, which is inconsistent with Ukraine’s strict environmental policies and green development goals.
Affected by the global energy situation, Ukraine faces tight fuel supply and drastic price fluctuations, bringing enormous operational pressure to local industrial and mining enterprises, agricultural machinery and thermal power generating units.
The client found that existing small plastic pyrolysis equipment suffers from low efficiency and unstable operation, and cannot meet the demands of large-scale waste plastic disposal and environmental emission requirements. Considering Ukraine’s local conditions — abundant waste plastic resources, temperate continental climate (cold winters and hot summers), strict environmental emission standards and urgent demand for alternative energy — Shangqiu Yueda provided 10 sets of customized semi-continuous plastic pyrolysis equipment with 20 tons daily capacity.The solution optimizes traditional pyrolysis systems in three core aspects to fully adapt to local market needs:
1. Feeding and Pretreatment
Equipped with high-efficiency waste plastic sorting, shredding and washing units. The system automatically sorts, crushes and cleans waste plastics into pieces of 3–8 cm, removing sediment, metals and other impurities.Materials are delivered into the reactor through a fully enclosed automatic conveying system, reducing labor intensity and improving feeding efficiency. It also eliminates dust and sewage pollution, fully meeting Ukraine’s strict air and water pollution control regulations.
2. Pyrolysis Process
Adopts an advanced thermal insulation heating structure and intelligent constant temperature control system, well adapted to Ukraine’s temperate continental climate. It maintains excellent thermal insulation in winter and stable heat dissipation in summer, ensuring year-round stable operation.
According to the characteristics of different waste plastics, the pyrolysis temperature is precisely controlled at 350–430 ℃, with a stable oil yield of 45%–55%.Heating fuel can adopt locally available natural gas, coal or biomass, effectively cutting operating costs and complying with both Ukrainian emission standards and relevant EU environmental regulations.
3. Slag Discharge and Waste Treatment
Adopts an automatic slag discharge system to realize continuous slag removal without shutdown, greatly improving production efficiency.
By-products such as carbon black and pyrolysis residue generated during production are collected and recycled separately: pyrolysis residue can be used as building materials or fuel; carbon black can be processed into rubber additives or fuel pellets for sale to local industrial enterprises, realizing resource circulation.
Tail gas is purified through multi-stage dust removal, desulfurization, denitrification and deodorization devices. The treated exhaust gas is far below Ukraine’s emission limits with no secondary pollution, earning high praise from local environmental authorities.
